Project Baby Grand:

We decided against the Limited edition Grand Cherokee simply because we knew those fancy painted side-moldings would be all scratched and scarred in no time. On the other hand, we found the V8/Quadradrive combination extremely appealing, so we purchased a Laredo with all of the Limited options. Sound confusing? It isn't - Jeep® makes it very easy to get just the right mix of options to make just about anyone happy.

Jeep® has also been listening to us, at least as far as the WJ is concerned. This baby has quite a few upgrades we would expect to do ourselves, if this were any other Jeep®: V8, front AND rear progressive limited slip, and a rear dana 44. Inside, it's hard to tell where the pavement ends, and the trail begins - the WJ takes comfort to a whole new level.

Where do we go from here? So far, the plan is to re-install a 2" lift on top of the 4" TeraFlex suspension lift so we can fit 33's on this bad boy. 4.56 gears will also be added to better handle the 32 or 33-inch tires. Though it did great bone-stock in Moab, we would feel more comfortable with a even more clearance.

Project Details:

The WJ screams comfort (as far as Jeeps go) every time you sit in it, and that's what this project is all about, driver comfort and ease of operation. This Jeep may not be tackling the most extreme trails, but it'll carry you comfortably across the rest of them. Incredibly spacious, excellent seats, and plenty of power and capability to go with it.

Maintenance is going really well on this Jeep, it's driving well except for a very slight driveline vibration and a 4-LO issue, both of which are scheduled to be fixed very soon. The future of this Jeep is fairly simple, it's a very capable Jeep as is, but we'd still love to see it on a slightly higher lift and larger tires. PJ should be back on the trails as soon as we can swap out the driveline components.

That's all for now, see you guys soon!
